Cabinet members mourn death of Jamuna Group chairman Babul
DHAKA, July 13, 2020 (BSS) – A host of cabinet members today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of country’s leading businessman and chairman of Jamuna Group Nurul Islam Babul.
In separate condolence messages, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Agriculture Minister Muhammad Abdur Razzaque, Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Minister Md Tazul Islam, Planning Minister MA Mannan, Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun, Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi, Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque, State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Shawpan Bhattacharjee and State Minister for Information Md Murad Hassan prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Babul breathed his last around 3:40pm today while undergoing treatment at the Evercare Hospital in the city. He tested COVID-19 positive.
Babul owned a private television channel- Jamuna TV- and a Bangla daily -Daily Jugantar.
