CMP DC Mizanur Rahman dies of coronavirus

DHAKA, July 13, 2020 (BSS) – Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Mizanur Rahman died of coronavirus while undergoing treatment at Central Police Hospital in the city’s Rajarbagh area early hours of today.

Mizanur Rahman breathed his last at 3.41am at the Intensive Care Unit of the police hospital at the age of 47, said a police headquarters release here.

He left behind his wife, two sons and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.

Mizanur, a member 22nd Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS), had been undergoing treatment at the hospital since June 28 and later was shifted to ICU as his condition deteriorated. He was tested COVID-19 positive on June 23.

The CMP DC was laid to eternal rest at Rayer Bazar Graveyard in the city following his namaz-e-janaza at the Rajarbagh Police Line in the morning.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Benazir Ahmed expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of CMP DC Mizanur Rahman.

In a condolence message, he prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to bereaved family.
