DHAKA, July 13, 2020 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today placed JKG Healthcare chairman Dr Sabrina Arif Chowdhury on three-day remand in a case lodged over issuing fake coronavirus test reports.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahinur Rahman passed the order as police produced Sabrina, a suspended registrar doctor at National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases, before the court and pleaded to place her on four-day remand.

Sabrina was shown arrested on Sunday after interrogating her primarily at the office of deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Tejgaon Zone.

JKG Healthcare run by Sabrina and her husband Ariful Chowdhury, also chief executive officer of JKG, was realising money from the suspected patients for coronavirus tests, whereas the company had inked a deal with the government to conduct the test free of cost.

The fraud company was even faking the signatures and seals of government agencies in making forged corona test reports while throwing away the samples taken from the suspected patients.

Police on June 24 arrested Ariful and four others including JKG’s former graphics designer Humayun Kabir Heru and his wife Tanjina Patwari.
