NOAKHALI-WHEAT-SEIZURE
30 tonnes of wheat seized in Noakhali
NOAKHALI, July 13, 2020 (BSS) – Members of the National Security
Intelligence Agency (NSI) seized 30 tonnes of illegally
procured government wheat from a warehouse of a trader of
Chaumuhani South Bazar in Noakhali’s Begumganj upazila on
Sunday morning.
According to the NSI sources, Noakhali District
Office Deputy Director ABM Faruk and Executive Magistrate
and Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Sarwar Kamal led
a joint operation in the area and seized the wheat while getting unloaded those in
trader Haji Abdul Malek’s godown from a truck at Dakshin
Bazar in Chaumuhani.
The estimated worth of the seized goods is Taka 5.40 lakh.
Masum, son of the warehouse trader, was arrested for not having
any valid documents and license of purchase and the warehouse
was sealed.
Begumganj Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Harun-ur Rashid
Chowdhury, Junior Field Officer Abu Taher Nizami, Sirajul
Islam, NSI Jamal Uddin Siab and Ansar members also assisted
in conducting the operation.
