Woman killed in Gazipur road accident
GAZIPUR, July 11, 2020 (BSS) – A woman was killed in a head-on collision between two passenger buses in Pipulia area under Kaliganj upazila of the district this morning.
The victim was identified as Dina Begum, 38, an NGO worker.
Kaliganj police inspector (investigation) Shahidul Islam said the accident occurred when a Tongi-bound bus collided head-on with another bus on the Tongi-Ghorashal road around 8.30 am and fell into a roadside ditch, leaving bus passenger Dina dead on the spot and some passengers of the buses injured.
On information, police rushed the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue.
The injured were taken to nearby hospital for first aid.
