Hizb ut-Tahrir man remanded in Digital Security Act case

DHAKA, July 10, 2020 (BSS)- A Dhaka court today placed an active member of banned militant outfit Hizb ut-Tahrir on four-day remand in a case lodged under Digital Security Act.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Morshed Al Mamun Bhuiyan passed the order as police produced accused Humayun Kabir before the court and pleaded to place him on 10-day remand in the case lodged with Gulshan Police Station.

Police in a special drive arrested Kabir, 23, from Bhandarpara area under Dumuria Police Station in Khulna on Thursday. They recovered a mobile phone, five jihadi books, and a national identity card from him.

Later, the case was filed with Gulshan Police Station.
