JU VC mourns death of ex-home minister Sahara Khatun
SAVAR, July 10, 2020 (BSS)- Jahangirnagar University (JU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. Farzana Islam on Friday expressed deep shock at the death of Awami League Presidium member and former Home Minister Advocate Sahara Khatun.
In a condolence message, the VC recalled the glorious political career of Sahara Khatun and said that her death has created a vacuum in the arena of politics and the nation have lost a competent women leader which is an irreparable loss to the country’s political arena.
Dr Farzana prayed for eternal peace of her departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Veteran Awami League leader Sahara Khatun died at Bumrungrad Hospital in Thailand around 11:25 pm on Thursday at the age of 77.
