Govt continues aid to lessen people’s sufferings: Khasru
NETRAKONA, July 9, 2020 (BSS) – State minister for social welfare
Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru here today said the government continues relief
operations across the country to lessen the sufferings of general
people triggered by coronavirus pandemic.
“The government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina has been providing foodstuffs and financial assistance
to the needy and jobless people under the social safety net programs
to help them overcome the coronavirus situation” he told a meeting
held at the conference room of Netrakona sader upazila parishad
office.
The meeting had discussion on law and order situation and progress
of on-going development projects in sader upazila.
Chaired by chairman of Netrakona sader upazila parishad Professor
Tafsiruddin Khan, the meeting was addressed by vice chairman of the
upazila parishad Tuhin Aktar and upazila nirbahi officer Masuda Aktar.
Khasru urged the concerned officers and public representatives to
work with utmost sincerity and honesty to complete the works of
ongoing development projects timely and properly.
He also gave directives to the upazila administration and public
representatives to create awareness about following of the health
safety guidelines including wearing of masks and maintaining social
distancing to check transmission of COVID-19.
Later, the state minister handed over old-age allowance paying books
to 1,995 people, widow allowance paying books to 1,651 widows and
disable allowance paying books to 1,062 disable people there.
