Hafizia madrasahs to be reopened from July 12
DHAKA, July 9, 2020 (BSS) – Considering the essentiality of uninterrupted study for memorising the Holy Quran, the government has decided to allow reopening of the academic activities of Hafizia madrasahs maintaining the health guidelines across the country from July 12.
The Religious Affairs Ministry on Wednesday gave permission to reopen the Hafizia madrasahs responding to a plea made by leading ulema (Islamic scholars) of the country, said an Islamic Foundation press release here today.
As per the directives of the ministry, local administrations, local health department officials and officials, teachers and employees of the Islamic Foundation at district and upazila levels as well as all concerned have been requested to take necessary measures in this regard and monitor the issue of maintaining health guidelines during the academic activities.
The Hafizia madrasahs were declared closed along with all other educational institutions since March 17 following the outbreak of the global pandemic coronavirus in the country.
