Feni civil surgeon Sajjad Hossain dies of Corona infection

DHAKA, July 7, 2020 (BSS) – Feni civil surgeon Dr Sajjad Hossain
passed away today 25 days after he was tested positive for coronavirus
on June 12 last.

Hossain breathed his last at 5:40pm at the age of 53 at the
intensive care unit (ICU) of Ajgar Ali Hospital in the capital Dhaka,
Feni district unit of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) president
Prof Sahedul Islam Kawser told BSS.

On June 18, he was taken to Dhaka from Feni General Hospital
following deterioration of his condition.

Kawser said the civil surgeon was given ventilation support on July
1 due to cardiac disorders and he was infected with pneumonia as well.

Hossain, elder son of late Dewan Mahbubul of Lemua area under Feni
sadar upazila, joined government service (health cadre) through 17th
Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS).

His wife Dr Nadira Dilruba is an assistant professor at Sir
Salimullah Medical College Hospital and his only daughter passed the
secondary school certificate this year.

Feni-2 constituency lawmaker and district Awami League general
secretary Nizam Uddin Hazari expressed profound shock and sorrow at
the death of the civil surgeon.

In a condolence message, he prayed for eternal peace of the departed
soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
