No substandard work would be allowed: Tazul

DHAKA, July 6, 2020 (BSS) – With a focus on strictly maintaining quality and sustainability of works for the country’s development, Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Md Tazul Islam today said no more substandard work will be allowed in the country.

“Quality and durability of any project undertaken for the country’s development must be ensured. No debasement in work will be allowed in the country,” he said while addressing a virtual meeting with district executive engineers from his office at Secretariat here.

The minister enquired about the ongoing activities under the Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE), said a press release here.

During the meeting, Tazul said in order to benefit the people with development, any work should be done in a degree of excellence and sustainability.

Noting that the LGRD Ministry will take actions against those who will create obstacles in ensuring quality works, the minister said, “No more substandard work will be allowed for the sake of country’s development. Stern actions will be taken against those who will do substandard works”.

He urged all concerned to inform the higher authorities if they face any risk and problem during performing official duties.

Mentioning that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working relentlessly to materialize Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s dream of building ‘Sonar Bangla’, Tazul urged officials under the LGRD and Cooperative Ministry to work with honesty and sincerity to make the premier’s efforts a reality.

Local Government Division (LGD) Senior Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed, DPHE Chief Engineer Md Saifur Rahman and senior officials of the LGRD Ministry joined the virtual meeting.
