CARE Bangladesh distributes 120,000 packs of sanitary napkins
DHAKA, July 6, 2020 (BSS) – CARE Bangladesh will distribute 120,000 packs of sanitary napkins among women and girls of disadvantaged communities affected by COVID-19.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Bangladesh is facing tremendous health and socioeconomic impact and most vulnerable groups, including urban marginalised women and girls, are facing difficulties in maintaining regular health and hygiene practices.
In this situation, with the support from Procter & Gamble (P&G), CARE Bangladesh is going to distribute more than 120,000 packs of sanitary napkins among disadvantaged communities affected by COVID-19, a CARE press release said.
Sanitary items were handed over through a ceremony in Mohakhali, Dhaka today in presence of senior officials from CARE Bangladesh and P&G.
Dr Jahirul Alam Azad, Head of Urban Health from CARE Bangladesh, delivered welcome speech; while Sathwath Ali Bhuiyan, National Head of Sales, International Brands Ltd, Bangladesh; was present as guest of honour.
Amit Sinha Roy-Head of Corporate Sales, International Brands Ltd, Bangladesh; and Nazmul Islam-Senior Executive, International Brands Ltd, Bangladesh; spoke on the occasion.
Sathwath Ali Bhuiyan handed over the support packages to Dr Ikhtiar Uddin Khandaker, Director – Health Program of CARE Bangladesh.
