5 killed, at least 3 injured in road crash in U.S. state North Carolina
WASHINGTON, July 4 (BSS/Xinhua) – Five people were killed and at least three others seriously injured after a car crash on Friday evening on a highway in Charlotte, a major city in southern U.S. state North Carolina, local media reported.
The crash happened just before 8:00 p.m. local time (0000 GMT Saturday) on Interstate 485 in north Charlotte, said the reports. An image from the scene showed that a tractor-trailer was involved in the crash.
Emergency medical officials did not immediately reveal the identity of the victims or the cause of the accident.
