COVID-19 infected case reaches 9124 in Ctg district

CHATTOGRAM, July 2, 2020 (BSS) – The number of coronavirus (COVID-19) infected cases has exceeded 9000 as 261 people were tested positive on a single day at the six laboratories after testing 1363 samples in the district in last 24 hours.

The total numbers of COVID-19 patients are now stands at 9124 only in Chattogram district till today,” Civil surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi told BSS today.

Of them, 6,285 are residents of the Chattogram city and 2,896 are residents of different upazilas of the district.

Among the newly identified 261 cases 187 are residents of the city and 84 are residents of different upazilas of the district.

Civil surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi told BSS said that today has recorded six deaths, the number of coronavirus (COVID-19) death toll in Chattogram reached 194. Among the death case 138 are residents of the city and 48 are residents of the upazila.

A total of 1084 persons were released from the hospital after recovery from COVID-19 infection till today, he added.

Dr Rabbi told that a total of 51 new COVID-19 patients were diagnosed with the coronavirus at Chattogram University after testing 142 samples in last 24 hours

Twenty three new COVID-19 patients were tested positive with the corona virus at BITID, Chattogram after testing 315 samples in last 24 hours.

A total of 41 more corona patients were identified at city’s Imperial Hospital after testing 157 samples while 30 people tested corona positive at Chevron libratory after testing 96 samples in last 24 hours.

One hundred more new COVID-19 patients were tested corona positive at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) after testing 408 samples during the same period.

Besides, 25 new COVID-19 patients were identified at Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Science University (CVASU) after testing 254 samples, the civil surgeon said.

On the other hand, one resident of Lohagara upazila were identified as COVID-19 positive after testing one sample at Cox’s Bazar Medical College Hospital in last 24 hours.
