Shops excepting red zone area to remain open for 4 days in Khulna

KHULNA, July 2, 2020 (BSS) – Khulna district administration has issued a notification yesterday evening to keep all shops and shopping malls open four days in a week excepting in red zone area to contain coronavirus infection and facilitate the people’s emergency service.

All shopping malls will remain open on Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from 10 am to 7 pm and the restrictions will come into force from July 4.

Earlier, on June 30, the government issued an order extending its restrictions on public activities and movements across the country until August 3 to contain spread of coronavirus pandemic .

The Cabinet Division issued a notification on June 30, mentioning “the restriction will continue till August 3. Weekly holidays will also be under the purview of the restrictions.”

Khulna Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Helal Hossain has taken this decision after consultation with public.

representatives, Khulna Chamber of Commerce and industry (KCCI) and District Coronavirus Prevention Committee as coronavirus infection and its related fatality is on the surge in the city as elsewhere in the district.

Local administration has imposed restriction in three red zone areas including one in the city which came into force since June 25 last.

With detection of 268 new more positive cases in last 24 hour till today’s noon, the total number of COVID-19 infected patients in the division now climbed to 4,775, according to COVID-19 quarantine and isolation related daily report today.

With the five more death, recorded today , the total number of fatalities reached 82 in the division including 27 in Khulna, four in Bagerhat, four in Satkhira, 12 in Jashore, six in Jhenaidah, three in Magura, seven in Narail, 11 in Kustia, three in Chuadanga and five in Meherpur districts.
