DHAKA, June 25, 2018 (BSS) – LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Khandaker
Mosharraf Hossain expressed his optimism that Gazipur City Corporation (GCC)
polls will set an example of free and fair election.

“We are expecting a competitive election,” he told newsmen after a
meeting with Faridpur Awami league (AL) leaders and workers at his residence
last night.

“If the Election Commission (EC) thinks that normal law enforcement agencies (police, RAB,
BGB) cannot handle the situation…the government will deploy the Army,” he said about the BNP’s
demand for deployment of Army during the city election.

He said there is no news of untoward incident in Gazipur so far as all
the candidates campaigned with great enthusiasm.

“Faridpur is already being considered as a role model of development,”
Mosharraf said, adding that this district will be established as a developed
district in the country.

Sirajganj-2 (Sadar and Kamarkand) Constituency MP Professor Md Habibe
Millat, LGRD Minister’s daughter Sarita Millat and Bangladesh Krishak
League’s Central Vice-President Arifur Rahman Dolon were present.
