CMP-Bidyananda field hospital starts operation

CHATTOGRAM, July 1, 2020 (BSS) – A field hospital jointly initiated by Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) and Bidyananda Foundation started its journey here today with a view to fighting against the coronavirus.

CMP Commissioner Mahabubur Rahman inaugurated the hospital at the city’s Patenga BK Convention Centre.

Initially, the hospital will start its operation with 50 beds, later 50 more beds will be added at the hospital, said Jamal Uddin, a volunteer with the Bidyananda Foundation and coordinator of the hospital.

The hospital will have 12 doctors, 18 nurses and 50 volunteers to provide healthcare to patients.

In addition, skilled physicians from different parts of the country and abroad will virtually give advice to the patients, he said.

Vice President of Bidyananda Foundation Farooq Ahmed, Additional Commissioner of Police Amena Begum, ADC Moinul Ahmed, dignitaries of the area and volunteers of the foundation were present on the occasion.
