KCC mayor distributes food aid, money among 3,567 destitute people
KHULNA, July 1, 2020 (BSS) – Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleque today distributed foodstuffs and cash money among 3,567 distressed and jobless people for mitigating their sufferings rendered by the COVID-19 pandemic.
City mayor distributed 100 mounds of rice, Taka 57,100 and others relief materials among 571 needy, jobless workers and destitute people at city’s 31 number word this morning by following health safety guidelines.
Later, the mayor disbursed 525 mounds of rice, Taka 2,99,600 and others relief materials among 2,996 needy and destitute people at city’s 13, 16, 20, 21, 25, 27 and 30 no wards aimed at meeting their financial hardship amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.
Each of the beneficiaries received a sac containing 7 kilograms of rice and Taka 100 for purchasing other essentials as part of the government’s instant humanitarian support programme.
General Secretary of Khulna City Awami League MDA Babul Rana, KCC officials and word councillor’s, among others, were present.
