Mohsin Chowdhury laid to eternal rest at Banani Military Graveyard

DHAKA, June 29, 2020 (BSS) – Senior Secretary of the Defence Ministry Abdullah Al Mohsin Chowdhury was laid to eternal rest at the Banani Military Graveyard after Asr prayers following his namaj-e-janaza on the graveyard premises.

Mohsin Chowdhury breathed his last at 9:35 am today while undergoing treatment at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in the capital at the age of 57, an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release said.

He had been ill since the first week of May and he was receiving treatment at home.

Later, the defence secretary was taken to the Combined Military Hospital and he was diagnosed with COVID-19 there.

He was in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital for two weeks where he breathed his last this morning, family sources said.

Mohsin left behind wife, a son, a daughter, a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.

He joined the Ministry of Defence on January 12 last as the defence secretary. He was recently promoted as the senior secretary of the Ministry of Defence.

Prior to that, Mohsin Chowdhury served as the secretary of the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Ministry.

He joined Bangladesh Civil Service in 1988.
