Hasan mourns death of Mahfuzul Chowdhury of Rangunia

CHATTOGRAM, June 29, 2020 (BSS)- Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the untimely death of Mahfuzul Islam Chowdhury.

Chowdhury, 50, third son of Rangunia Upazila Chairman and former Upazila Awami League president Alhaj Khalilur Rahman Chowdhury, died at the Chattogram General Hospital after suffering from shortness of breath.

Dr Hasan, Joint General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League, said Mahfuzul Islam Chowdhury, a member of a political family, worked tirelessly for the party during the difficult times of Awami League politics.

In his death, he said, the people of Rangunia lost a true lover of Bangabandhu.

The information minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.

Mahfuzul was buried at the family graveyard after Namaj-e-Janaza at Muradnagar Jame Mosque ground in Rangunia this afternoon.

He breathed his last on Sunday (June 26). Mahfuz Chowdhury, former general secretary of Roazar Hat Businessmen’s Welfare Association under Rangunia upazila, had been suffering from various physical complications including shortness of breath for a few days.

He tested corona negative while undergoing treatment.
