Tk 42,200 fined in Khulna for violating COVID-19 guidelines

KHULNA, June 28, 2020 (BSS) – Mobile courts here conducted drives in different areas including wards of 17 and 24 of Khulna metropolis, declared as red zone, filed 19 cases against different shops, business outlets and fined around Taka 42,200 for flouting coronavirus health safety guidelines.

The Executive Magistrates Md. Mizanur Rahman, Md. Rashedul Islam, Tapsi Rabeya and Noori Tasmin Urmi of Khulna district administration conducted special mobile courts and fined the shops mostly saloons, departmental and cosmetics stores and other business outlets in last 24-hour till today’s 10am.

The courts filed 19 cases against the shops for not abiding by the hygiene rules and violating government orders related to timeframe of remaining open of shops including unnecessary movement without wearing masks, violation of public order and noncompliance of social distancing.

Executive magistrates also lock down a corona patient’s home.

Khulna Metropolitan Police and members of Ansar and other law enforcing agencies assisted the mobile courts.

Additional District Magistrate Mohammad Yuusuf Ali said some of the shops have also been fined and sued which were found running their business activities beyond the time, fixed by the government. The Khulna district administration will continue drive to prevent corona virus infection and other crimes.
