24 drug addicts more jailed in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI, June 25, 2018 (BSS) – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested 24
persons and subsequently they were sentenced to jail for six months each by
mobile court on charge of taking drugs here yesterday.
On a tip-off, a team of the elite anti-crime force conducted raids in
different areas of Godagari Upazila in the district and arrested them.
The team also seized 623 grams of ganja and some other drugs-taking
materials from their possessions.
Later, the arrested persons were produced before a mobile court.
After examining the relevant evidences, the court sentenced them to jail.
Nure Alam, Assistant Superintendent of Police working at RAB, said
different courts sent more than 160 drug addicts to jail after found them
guilty in last one week.
Similar type of anti-drive operation will be conducted in the days ahead
for the greater interest of protecting the youths from the deadly drug-
addiction, he added.
