3 held with 220 bottles of Phensedyl in city
DHAKA, June 27, 2020 (BSS) – The Motijheel Division Intelligence of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested three drug dealers along with 220 bottles of Phensedyl from Kawran Bazar on Friday.
The arrestees are Md Shahin Ali (23), Md Rafiqul Islam (22) and Md Ohidul alias Sumon Sheikh (33).
Members of vehicle theft, snatch rescue and prevention team of the Detective Branch (DB) police conducted an operation in Kawran Bazar area under Tejgaon Police Station on Friday and arrested them, said a press release issued by the DMP Public Relations and Media Branch.
They also seized 220 bottles of Phensedyl and Tk 15,000 in cash from them.
The detainees confessed to have connection with drug trafficking during preliminary interrogation, the press release said.
They had been dealing in the illegal drug Phensedyl for a long time in the Dhaka metropolitan area.
Motijheel Intelligence Division Senior Assistant Commissioner Sikdar Mohammad Hasan Imam confirmed the incident.
A case has been filed with the Tejgaon police station in this regard.
