Lightning strike kills farmer in Pirganj
THAKURGAON, June 27, 2020 (BSS) – A farmer was killed in a lightning strike in his crop field at Garura village under Pirganj upazila of the district today.
The deceased was identified as Azimul Haque, 40, son of Abdul Hamidur Rahman, a resident of the same village.
Locals said the thunderbolt stuck him while he was visiting his paddy field, close to the village, during the rain in the morning. Azimul died on the spot.
Kosharaniganj union parishad chairman Golam Mostafa confirmed the matter and said the upazila administration has provided financial assistance to the victim’s family.
