KCC mayor distributes food aid, money among 2,996 insolvent people

KHULNA, June 27, 2020 (BSS) – Mayor of Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Talukder Abdul Khaleque today distributed foodstuffs and cash money among 2,996 distressed and jobless people for mitigating their sufferings rendered by the COVID-19 pandemic.

City mayor distributed 75 mounds of rice, TK 42,800 and others relief materials among 428 needy, jobless workers and destitute people at Doulotpur ward number four area in the city this morning by strictly following health safety guidelines and rules , set by the government.

Later, the mayor disbursed 442 mounds of rice, TK 2,52,800 and others relief materials among 2,568 needy and destitute people at city’s 5, 6, 7, 15, 26 and 28 no ward’s aimed at meeting their financial hardship amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.

Each of the beneficiaries received a sac containing 7 kilogram of rice and TK 100 for purchasing other essentials as part of the government’s instant humanitarian support programme.

Chairman of Bangladesh Jute Mill Association (BJA) Sheikh Syed Ali, Freedom Fighter Noor Islam, Chairman of the Aspiration Group Sheikh Majnu, KCC officials and word councillor’s were also present.
