COVID-19 cases rise to 3,604 in Khulna division

KHULNA, June 27, 2020 (BSS) – The entre number of coronavirus (COVID-19) patients has surged to 3,604 in Khulna division as 219 new positive cases were reported during the last 24 hours till this afternoon.

“The total number of recovered COVID-19 patients rose to 910 now with the recovery of 75 more patients in Khulna division in the last 24 hours,” Assistant Director (Health) of Khulna division Dr. Ferdousi Akhter told BSS this afternoon.

The official said the district-wise break-up of the Covid-19 patients now stands at 1,551 in Khulna, 166 in Bagerhat, 159 in Satkhira, 514 in Jashore, 165 in Jhenaidah, 97 in Magura, 153 in Narail, 535 in Kushtia, 205 in Chuadanga and 59 in Meherpur districts.

“The recovery rate among the total 3,604 coronavirus infected patients now stands at 25.50 percent in the division,” she said.

The 910 recovered COVID-19 patients include 174 in Khulna, 56 in Bagerhat, 42 in Satkhira, 157 in Jashore, 74 in Jhenaidah, 44 in Magura, 45 in Narail, 179 in Kushtia, 116 in Chuadanga and 23 in Meherpur districts.

With the one more death, the total number of fatalities reached 52 in the division including 19 in Khulna, six in Narail, six in Kushtia, five in Meherpur, six in Jashore, three in Bagerhat, three in Jhenaidah, two each in Magura and Chuadanga districts.

“Among the total 3,604 coronavirus infected persons, 421 are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals as 910 have recovered and 52 died while the rest of the patients are remaining in isolation at their respective homes in the division”, Dr. Ferdousi added.
