DHAKA, June 27, 2020 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of former president of Germany unit of Awami League and freedom fighter Anowerul Islam Ratan.
In a condolence message, the head of the state said at Anowerul Islam Ratan’s death, Germany unit of AL lost a dedicated political leader who lifelong cherished the ideals of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Abdul Hamid prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
An inhabitant of Patdiakul village under Katiadi upazila of Kishoreganj district, Ratan died of cancer last night in Germany. He was 67.
