Flood situation may worsen in six districts: FFWC

DHAKA, June 26, 2020 (BSS) – Flood situation may worsen in four
northern districts –Kurigram, Gaibandha, Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari–
and two eastern districts–Sylhet and Sunamganj– in the next 24-hours
till 9am tomorrow, said a bulletin of Flood Forecasting and Warning
Centre (FFWC).

Water levels of all rivers are on rising trend and it is likely to
continue in the next three days, it said.

In the next 24-horus water levels of Jamuna may cross danger level
at its Phulchari and Bahadurabad points while it may cross danger
level at Sariyakandi, Kazipur and Sirajganj points in the next 48
hours.

Water levels of river Surma is likely to cross danger level at
Kanaighat and Sunamganj points and it may cross danger level at
Sarighat point in Shari-Goyain river in the next 24 hours.

Teesta water level will remain steady while rising trend of Dharala
may continue and it may cross danger level in the next 24 hours, it
added.

Water levels at 68 river stations out of total 101 monitored FFWC
have marked rise while 28 stations recorded fall and five others
remain steady.
