BB adviser Allah Malik Kazemi passes away
DHAKA, June 26, 2020 (BSS)- Change management adviser of Bangladesh Bank (BB) Allah Malik Kazemi died of coronavirus (COVID-19) infection while undergoing treatment at the ‘Ever Care Hospital’ in the capital here today.
He was admitted to the hospital a couple of weeks ago with various ailments. A few days ago, he tested positive for COVID-19, said Bangladesh Bank Executive Director Kazi Sayedur Rahman.
As his physical condition deteriorated, he was shifted to intensive care unit (ICU) and kept on life support. He breathed his last this afternoontoday, Rahman added.
Kazemi, the eldest official of BB, also served as deputy governor at the central bank.
BB Governor Fazle Kabir and other officials concerned today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Kazemi.
They prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family.
