Shamim Afzal laid to rest
DHAKA, June 26, 2020 (BSS) – Former Director General of Islamic Foundation Shamim Mohammad Afzal was laid to eternal rest after Jumma prayers at his family graveyard at village Tarwa under Ashuganj upazila in Brahmanbaria.
Afzal was buried after his third namaz-e-janaza at his village.
Earlier his first namaz-e-janaza was held this morning at Mohammadpur Johuri Moholla Mosque and second one at Narinda Musrikhola Darbar Sharif in the capital.
Afzal, 65, passed away at a city hospital last night.
He left behind wife, one daughter, a host of relatives and well wishers to mourn his death.
Afzal served as Director General of Islamic Foundation from January 2009 to December 2019. A cadre of BCS 1983 batch, he worked as a judicial officer for 25 years.
