DHAKA, June 25, 2020 (BSS) – The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today filed a case against a female union parishad member for allegedly misappropriating rice of the government’s VGD programme in Tangail.
ACC deputy assistant director Raju Md Sarwar Hossain filed the case with ACC’s Tangail integrated district office, ACC spokesman Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told BSS.
The case was filed against Mst Fazila, a reserved woman member of Kalia union parishad of Sakhipur upazila.
According to the case statement, the accused misappropriated 240 kilograms of rice of the Vulnerable Group Development (VGD) programme.
The case were filed under the Penal Code 1860 and the Prevention of Corruption Act 1947.
