Bourses post another flat sessions

DHAKA, June 23, 2020 (BSS) – Country’s both the bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) today closed trading registering another flat sessions as investors were mostly inactive amid ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

At DSE, the broad index, DSEX settled at 3963.35 points on Tuesday with a tiny gain of 1.30 points or 0.03 percent.

Besides, two selective indices, Blue Chip index, DSE30 and Shariah index, DSES went down slightly by 0.35 points and 0.54 points to settle at 1326.35 points and 918.21 points respectively.

On the DSE trading floor, a total number of 15,456 trades were executed in today’s trading session with a trading volume of 24.05 million securities.

Market turnover, another crucial indicator, stood at Taka 719 million which is higher than of previous day’s Taka 512 million.

Losers took lead over gainers as out of 274 issues traded, 14 securities gained price while 24 declined and 236 remained unchanged.

The market-cap of DSE remained Taka 3,106 billion, same to the previous session.

The top 10 gainers were Tasrifa Industries, Mutual Trust Bank, Power Grid, Desh Garments, BSCCL, Pubali Bank, ACI Limited and National Life Insurance.

BeximcoPharma topped the turnover chart followed by BSCCL, MonnoStafflers, Linde Bangladesh, Central Pharma, Aziz Pipes, Wata Chemicals, Exim Bank, Indo-Bangla Pharma and Pharma Aid.

The 10 top losers were AmbeePharma, Phoenix Finance First Mutual Fund, SonaliAnsh, BD wielding, Pharma Aid, Shyampur Sugar, Paramount Insurance, National Tea, Reckitt Benckiser and Wata Chemical.

On the other hand, port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed trading at red from the gaining streak of previous day.

CSCX and CASPI went down by 5.39 points and 7.65 points to stand at 6814.00 points and 11248.06 points respectively.

At CSE, a total of 16,345,088 shares and mutual funds of 107 companies were traded, of which 9 issues advanced while 19 declined and 79 issues remained unchanged.
