Bourses end almost flat

DHAKA, June 22, 2020 (BSS) – Country’s both the bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) today closed trading almost flat as investors were mostly inactive amid ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

At DSE, the broad index, DSEX settled at 3962.04 points on Monday with a tiny loss of 0.93 points or 0.02 percent.

Besides, two selective indices, Blue Chip index, DSE30 and Shariah index, DSES also went down slightly by 0.12 points and 0.14 points to settle at 1326.70 points and 918.75 points respectively.

On the DSE trading floor, a total number of 15,464 trades were executed in today’s trading session with a trading volume of 15.26 million securities.

Market turnover, another crucial indicator, stood at Taka 512 million which is higher than of previous day’s Taka 386 million.

Gainers took lead over losers as out of 250 issues traded, 17 securities gained price while 15 declined and 218 remained unchanged.

The market-cap of DSE remained Taka 3,106 billion, same to the previous session.

The top 10 gainers were Sonali Ansh, Ambee Pharma, Pharma Aid, JMI Syringe, Wata Chemical, ICB Employee Mutual Fund One, Reckitt Benckiser, AMCL (PRAN), ACME Lab and Exim Bank.

Beximco Pharma topped the turnover chart followed by Wata Chemical, Pharma Aid, Indo-Bangla Pharma, Exim Bank, Linde Bangladesh, JMI Syringe, Sonali Ansh, BSCCL and Central Pharma.

The 10 top losers were Prime Bank, Eastern Lubricants, Indo-Bangla Pharma, Phoenix Finance First Mutual Fund, Paramount Insurance, BD Wielding, NCC Bank, Beximco Pharma, Central Pharma and Line Bangladesh.

On the other hand, port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed trading at green overcoming the losing streak of previous day.

CSCX and CASPI went up by 2.77 points and 4.97 points to stand at 6819.39 points and 11255.71 points respectively.

At CSE, a total of 4,197,952 shares and mutual funds of 94 companies were traded, of which 18 issues advanced while 12 declined and 64 issues remained unchanged.
