RpMP producing hand sanitizer following WHO guidelines

RANGPUR, June 22, 2020 (BSS) – Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) continues producing instant hand sanitizer following the WHO guidelines for its personnel to keep them safe while on duty and providing humanitarian assistance to the people amid COVID-19 pandemic.

Under an initiative taken by Police Commissioner of RpMP Abdul Alim Mahmud, a specialised team of the organisation has been producing the instant hand sanitizer since April last and distributing among its personnel and employees free of costs.

“Led by its Additional Deputy Police Commissioner (Crime) Md. Shahidullah Kowsar (Biochemist) and Assistant Police Commissioner (Traffic South) Mohammad Al Imran (Pharmacist), the team produces the hand sanitizer,” Alim told BSS today.

The RpMP is meeting the expenditure from its own resources for production of the instant hand sanitizer maintaining international standards and distributing those among the police personnel for their use amid coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic situation.

The organisation already produced 1,500 bottles of instant hand sanitizer with 100 milliliters in each in April and more 1,500 bottles in June (on Sunday).

The RpMP Chief distributed the produced instant hand sanitizer among 1,327 personnel of RpMP through their respective unit chiefs for the second time in an informal function arranged at his office in the city maintaining physical distance on Sunday.

Talking to BSS today, Shahidullah said the instant hand sanitizer is being produced using Isopropyl Alcohol Antiseptic 75pc Topical Solution, Hydrogen-per-Oxide, Glycerol and Pure Water as ingredients in appropriate proportions as per the WHO guidelines.
