CHATTOGRAM, June 21, 2020 (BSS) – A lighterage ship carrying 950 tonnes of pulse met an accident at the entrance channel of Chattogram port this morning.
Parvez Ahmed, owner of Mutual Shipping, the agent of the lighterage ship, said that another lighter ship collided headed on with ‘MV New Golam Rahman’around 8am on its way to Noapara with pulse from Chattogram.
The sea water was entering through one side of the ship. Realizing the situation, the captain immediately drove the ship to an adjacent char, which saved the ship from sinking.
He said they are trying to bring down pulse from the ship as all of people, boarded on the ship, are safe.
