194 detected as COVID-19 positive, 2 die in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, June 21, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 194 more people were tested positive for coronavirus in the five COVID-19 laboratories after testing 670 samples in the district in the last 24 hours.

With the two death today, the number of coronavirus (COVID-19) death toll in Chattogram reached 141 till today.

The total number of COVID-19 patients now stands at 6292 only in Chattogram district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, told BSS today.

Among the newly detected corona patients, 128 are from Chattogram city and 66 from different upazilas of the district.

A total of 642 persons were released from the hospital after recovery from COVID-19 infection.

Dr Rabbi told that 97 new COVID-19 patients were diagnosed with the corona virus at BITID, Chattogram after testing 277 samples in last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 62 more new COVID-19 patients were tested corona positive at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) after testing 203 samples during the same period.

Besides, 16 new COVID-19 patients were identified at CVASU, Chattogram after testing 129 samples, the civil surgeon adding that 18 more new COVID-19 patients were identified at Chattogram University after testing 60 samples in last 24 hours.

On the other hand, one resident of Lohagara upazila were identified as COVID-19 positive after testing one samples at Cox’s Bazar Medical College Hospital in last 24 hours.
