Khulna District Dev Coordination Committee holds meeting
KHULNA, June 21, 2020 (BSS) – A meeting of Khulna District Development Coordination Committee was held at the deputy commissioner (DC) office here this morning.
Deputy Commissioner Md. Helal Hossain presided over the virtual meeting.
The meeting urged the government departments to enhance vigilance and continue their services as the rate of coronavirus infection has increased in Khulna.
The meeting asked all concerned to take necessary steps to stop breeding of mosquito larvae in the city corporation area to prevent dengue.
Speedy repairing of cyclone-damaged dams in coastal upazilas, safe food and tree planting also came up for discussion in the meeting.
The DC directed all concerned at the district and upazila levels to remain aware of the COVID-19 situation to prevent its further spread and reach relief materials to the affected people as per the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“We must reach foodstuffs at the doorsteps of the affected, jobless, helpless and needy people so that none of them suffer from food crisis. No negligence and irregularities will be tolerated in this connection,” he said.
Even amid the coronavirus situation, the departments have to work to the best of their ability to attain the sustainable development goals, he added.
Heads of different district level departments and Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) took part in the meeting online.
