DHAKA, June 21, 2020 (BSS) – More than 6.86 crore people of over 1.56 crore families have received government aid in the country amid ongoing corona situation as the government continues its relief assistance to mitigate people’s hardship caused by the deadly virus.
“Around 6, 86, 83,383 individuals of 1, 56, 77,866 families have been benefited by the government relief assistance during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic,” said an official release here today.
The government has so far distributed 1, 79,225 tonnes of rice out of 2, 11,017 tonnes alloted among the people till yesterday, according to the data provided by 64 district administrations.
The government has allocated nearly Taka 123 crore in cash for purchasing other goods including the baby food across the country.
Of those, Taka 95,83,72,264 cash has been allocated for purchasing relief materials as Taka 84,98,08,352 have been distributed among 3,85,90,443 individuals, it said.
The government has distributed baby food of Taka 23.37 crore among 15.75 lakh people as a total of Taka 27.14 crore has so far been allocated for purchasing baby foods, the official release said.
