JS body for forming land acquisition committee for home ministry projects
DHAKA, June 24, 2018 (BSS)-The committee on Estimates of the 10th Jatiya Sangsad today recommended formation of a committee by the home ministry involving a joint secretary to ensure acquisition of land prior to taking up any project.
It also suggested taking necessary steps by the ministry so that tenure of project is not extended, said a press release.
Chairman of the committee Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury presided over the meeting while members Md Abdur Razzak, AKM Jahangir Hossain, AB Tajul Islam, Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, Yusuf Abdullah Harun, Major General (retd) ATM Abdul Wahab and Wasika Ayesha Khan attended the meeting
It recommended taking steps by the security service division of the home ministry to set up fire service station beside the national highways.
The committee also suggested the home ministry to provide cars for projects in Dhaka city and pajero for projects outside of Dhaka city. It recommended formation of a committee by the home ministry so that except the project officials, none can use the project vehicles.
It recommended proper monitoring of Guchchhagram-2 (CVRP) Climate Victims Rehabilitation Project under the land ministry. It suggested reducing the number of vehicles of the project and bringing bazaars, schools and ponds under the project.
High officials of the ministries concerned and the Jatiya Sangsad secretariat were present at the meeting.
