Former PID officer Zafar Alam dies
DHAKA, June 20, 2020 (BSS)- Press Information Department (PID) Senior Deputy Principal Information Officer (retired) Zafar Alam died of old-age complications at his residence in city’s Mirpur area last night.
Zafar left behind two sons, one daughter and a host of relatives and admires to mourn his death, a press release said.
He was buried at Mirpur graveyard in the city next to his wife’s grave, it added.
Information Secretary Begum Kamrun Nahar today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Zafar Alam.
In a condolence message, she prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Besides, BCS Information Association President SM Golam Kibria ,its Secretary General Munsi Jalal Uddin and PID Principal Information Officer Surath Kumar Sarkar also expressed their profound shock at the death of Jafar Alam.
Jafar received Bangla Academy Award for his outstanding contribution to literature.
