Ministers, state ministers condole death of Kamal Lohani

DHAKA, June 20, 2020 (BSS) – Ministers and state ministers today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Ekushey award winning journalist, noted cultural personality and veteran freedom fighter Kamal Lohani.

Nurul Islam Sujan and State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Md Zakir Hossen , State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr Md Enamur Rahman, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali and State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury and State Minister for Information Dr Md Murad Hassan, State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid and State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali expressed deep and profound shock at the death of Kamal.

They paid homage to Kamal Lohani for his outstanding contribution to the liberation war in 1971 through journalism and cultural movement, including imprisonment for the independence of Bengali language and motherland.

They prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Kamal Lohani died at Sheikh Russell Gastroliver Institute and Hospital here this morning. He had been undergoing treatment there with multiple health complications, including diabetes, lung, heart and kidney problems since May 16.
