Rangpur AL arranges doa mahfil seeking recovery of ailing leaders

RANGPUR, June 20, 2020 (BSS) – The Rangpur district Awami League (AL) arranged a doa mahfil at its office in the city today seeking divine blessings for the earliest recovery of the sick and coronavirus (COVID-19) infected ailing central leaders of the party.

Leaders of the district unit of AL and its associate bodies participated in the doa mahfil strictly maintaining physical distance and abiding by the health directives to prevent community transmission of the COVID-19 infection.

Presided over by President of district AL Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed in the chair, its General Secretary Advocate Rezaul Karim Razu addressed a brief discussion arranged on the occasion.

Special munajats were offered in the doa mahfil for early recovery of former Home Minister and AL presidium member Advocate Sahara Khatun and COVID-19 infected Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi and Minister for Liberation War Affairs AKM Mozammel Haque, other AL MPs and leaders who are now undergoing treatments due to illnesses.

They sought divine blessings for the departed souls of AL presidium member and 14-party alliance spokesperson Mohammad Nasim, state minister for religious affairs Alhaj Advocate Sheikh Md. Abdullah and former Mayor of Sylhet City Corporation and member of the AL central executive committee Badruddin Ahmed Kamran.

Seeking early recovery of Sahara Khatun and Tipu Munshi, Advocate Razu said Nasim and Abdullah will remain as glittering national stars for their outstanding contributions to politics, struggles for independence and War of Liberation.

Razu described the deaths of Nasim, Abdullah and Kamran as irreparable losses for the nation and expressed profound shock and remembered their maximum contribution to national politics and independence.

“The veteran politicians always stood beside Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and came forward in every crucial moment of the AL and the country leaving an example for the future generations through outstanding contribution,” he said.

Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed paid rich tributes to Mohammad Nasim, Sheikh Md. Abdullah and Kamran and also prayed for early recovery of Sahara Khatun, Tipu Munshi, Mozammel Haque, other AL MPs and ailing leaders now undergoing treatments due to illnesses.

Vice-president of district AL Utpal Sarkar, its Joint General Secretary Motahar Hossain Mandal Mowla, Organizing Secretary Wajedul Islam, Office Secretary Amin Sarkar, Deputy Office Secretary Ershadul Haque Ranju, Relief and Social Welfare Affairs Secretary Abu Talha Mohammad Biplob, Cultural Affairs Secretary Atiqul Alam Kallol, Youth and Sports Affairs Secretary Golam Mostafa Moni, Health and Population Affairs Secretary Fakhrul Hasan Liu, District Swechchasebak League President Sirajul Islam, its General Secretary Dhanojeet Ghosh Taposh and other leaders were present.
