COVID-19 infection cases stand at 5,912 in Ctg district

CHATTOGRAM, June 19, 2020 (BSS) – The number COVID-19 infection cases have risen to 5,912 in Chattogram district as 148 more new cases diagnosed with coronavirus after testing 721 samples at five COVID -19 laboratories in last 24 hours.

Chattogram district health officials said among the newly detected 148 corona patients, 94 are from Chattogram city and 54 from different upazilas of the district.

Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, told BSS that with today’s five more death, a total of 136 people died of lethal coronavirus and 571 COVID-19 patients were released from hospitals.

He said the recovery rate of corona patients currently stands at 9.65 percent while fatality rate 2.30 percent in the district.

Dr Rabbi told that 34 more new COVID-19 patients were identified at Chattogram University after testing 112 samples in last 24 hours.

A total of 23 new COVID-19 patients were diagnosed with the coronavirus at BITID, Chattogram after testing 279 samples in last 24 hours.

Six new COVID-19 patients were identified at Imperial Hospital, Chattogram after testing 96 samples.

Meanwhile, 61 more new COVID-19 patients were tested corona positive at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) after testing 110 samples during the same period.

Besides, 24 also new COVID-19 patients were identified at CVASU, Chattogram after testing 124 samples, the civil surgeon said.
