RAJSHAHI, June 19, 2020 (BSS)- Two persons including a truck driver were killed and six others injured in two separate road accidents in the district today.
According to police and hospital sources, the deceased were identified as Truck driver Ishaque Ali, 46, of Mongalbaria village in Kustia district and Mistaque Rahman, 45, of Balanagar village under Bagmara upazila in Rajshahi district.
Rabiul Islam, sub-inspector (SI) of Chandrima Police Station, said Ishaque Ali and his helper Hossen Ali, 22, received serious injuries when their truck hit another stranding truck with a big force from behind in Kharkhari Bypass area around 6.30 am.
They were immediately rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) where Ishaque succumbed to his injuries.
On the other hand, Mistaque was killed on the spot and five others injured when a cattle-laden human hauler turned turtle and fell into a roadside ditch in Gopalpur area under Bagmara upazila around 2.30 pm.
The wounded were admitted to RMCH, said Ataur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bagmara Police Station.
Two separate cases were recorded with the respective police stations in these connections.
