Nasrul for expediting automation, digitization in energy management

DHAKA, June 18, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid today underscored the need for expediting the automation and digitalization process in energy management.

“Office management software can be used according to the architectures of offices,” he said while addressing a meeting through video conference from his residence.

Addressing the meeting to review implementation and progress of projects under the ‘Annual Development Program’ till May 2020 and the decisions taken earlier, he said it was important to have a master plan for modernization of gas management.

“In order to strengthen Bapex, it is time to have skilled and professional people on its board of directors,” Nasrul stated.

The meeting discussed revised ADP allocation and implementation and progress of 32 projects for the fiscal year 2019-20 till May 2020.

The progress was 56.8 percent till May 2020 amid non-availability of goods worth Taka 400 crore due to coronavirus outbreak, which was expected to be 85 percent by June 30.

The virtual meeting was attended by energy secretary Md Anisur Rahman, Chairman of BPC Md Shamsur Rahman, Chairman of Petrobangla ABM Abdul Fattah, Director General of Bangladesh Petroleum Institute, AK Mohiuddin, Director General of Hydrocarbon Unit Manjurul Quader, Director General of Geological Survey Department Mohammad Nizam Uddin and Managing Directors of different companies.
