178 detected as COVID-19 positive, four die in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, June 18, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 178 more people were tested positive for coronavirus in the five COVID-19 laboratories after testing 796 samples in the district in last 24 hours.

With the four death today, the number of coronavirus (COVID-19) death toll in Chattogram reached 131 till today.

The total number of COVID-19 patients now stands at 5765 only in Chattogram district, Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram, told BSS today.

Among the newly detected corona patients, 103 are from Chattogram city and 75 from different upazilas of the district.

A total of 539 persons were released from the hospital after recovery from COVID-19 infection.

Dr Rabbi told that 43 new COVID-19 patients were diagnosed with the corona virus at BITID, Chattogram after testing 279 samples in last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, 63 more new COVID-19 patients were tested corona positive at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) after testing 150 samples during the same period.

Besides, 25 new COVID-19 patients were identified at CVASU, Chattogram after testing 155 samples, the civil surgeon adding that 21 more new COVID-19 patients were identified at Chattogram University after testing 42 samples in last 24 hours.

A total of 23 new COVID-19 patients were identified at Imperial Hospital, Chattogram after testing 139 samples

On the other hand, three residents of Lohagara upazila were identified as COVID-19 positive after testing 31 samples at Cox’s Bazar Medical College Hospital in last 24 hours.
