Light to moderate rain likely over country

DHAKA, June 18, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) predicted light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind at many places over the country in 24 hours as of 9 am tomorrow.

“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at most places over Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Sylhet, Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country,” said a Met office bulletin issued here this morning.

Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged and night temperature may fall by (1-2)° C over the country, said the bulletin.

Highest rainfall for the last 24-hour till 6am today was recorded by 253 millimeters(mm) at Cox’s Bazar in Chattogram division.

Country’s maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded 32.7 degrees Celsius at Sylhet , Tetulia and Ishurdi in Sylhet, Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions respectively while the lowest one today 23.5 degrees Celsius at Nikli in Dhaka division.

The sun sets at 6:48 pm today and rises at 5:12 am tomorrow in the capital.
