2 alleged human traffickers remanded over Libya carnage

DHAKA, June 17, 2020 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today placed two alleged human traffickers on three-day remand each in a case lodged over human trafficking and the recent killing of 26 innocent Bangladeshis in Libya.

The two accused are Kabir Hossain and Nasir Uddin.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ziaur Rahman passed the order as CID produced the duo before the court and pleaded to place them on 10-day remand.

CID arrested the accused on June 16 and showed them arrested in case 3(6) 20, filed with Paltan Police Station.

Human traffickers recently shot 30 people, including 26 Bangladeshis, dead in Mizdah, Libya and left 11 others injured in the attack. All the victims were trafficked to the war-torn African state en route to Europe.

Law enforcement agencies, after the incident, launched coordinated drives against the human trafficking gangs across the country and managed to arrest many alleged human traffickers.
