Motorbike rider killed in Savar road accident
SAVAR, June 24, 2018 (BSS) – A motorbike rider was killed and another
injured as a pick-up van hit their motorbike on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in
Hemayetpur area on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Hashem Miah, 48, hailing from Faridpur.
Police said the accident occurred in the area at about 9 am when the pick-
up van hit the motorbike from behind, leaving Hashem dead on the spot and
rider Jabed Miah injured.
Police seized the pickup van and recovered 540 bottles of phensidyl after
searching the vehicle.
In another accident, at least 20 passengers were injured after a bus
plunged into a roadside ditch after its driver lost control over the wheel in
Bypail area in the morning.
Two cases were filed in these connections.
