Stocks end almost flat

DHAKA, June 16, 2020 (BSS) – The country’s both the bourses, Dhaka
Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), today closed
trading almost flat amid growing fear of coronavirus.

At DSE, the broad index, DSEX settled at 3960.65 points on Tuesday
with a marginal gain of 2.28 points or 0.05 percent.

Besides, two selective indices, Blue Chip index, DSE30 and Shariah
index, DSES also went up slightly by 0.86 points and 0.67 points to
settle at 1325.63 points and 918.29 points respectively.

On the DSE trading floor, a total number of 10,527 trades were
executed in today’s trading session with a trading volume of 24.60
million securities.

Market turnover, another crucial indicator, stood at Taka 653
million which is higher than of previous day’s Taka 615 million.

Out of 249 issues traded, 20 securities gained price while 20
declined and 206 remained unchanged.

The market-cap of DSE increased slightly to Taka 3,103 billion, from
Taka 3,102 billion in the previous session.

The top 10 gainers were Desh Garments, Reckitt Benckiser, Matin
Spinning, Phoenix Finance First Mutual Fund, ACI Formulation, Vanguard
AML BD Finance Mutual Fund-1, SEML IBBL Shariah Fund, Republic
Insurance, AMCL (PRAN) and Beximco Pharma.

Beximco Pharma topped the turnover chart followed by Beximco
Limited, National Bank, Lindebd, Reckitt Benckiser, Indo-Bangla
Pharma, Central Pharma, BSCCL, National Credit and Commerce Bank and
Exim Bank.

The top losers were ICB Employees Provident Mutual Fund Once
Scheme, Dhaka Dying, Vanguard AML Rupali Bank Balanced Fund, ICB AMCL
First Agrani Bank Mutual Fund, Emerald Oil, Beximco Synthetic, Prime
Bank First ICB AMCL Mutual Fund, SEML Lecture Equity Management Fund,
Beximco Limited and Paramount Insurance.

On the other hand, port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange
(CSE) also closed trading at green from the losing streak of previous
day.

CSCX and CASPI increased by 2.77 points and 4.45 points to stand at
6811.53 points and 11243.02 points respectively.

At CSE, a total of 831,524 shares and mutual funds of 88 companies
were traded, of which 16 issues advanced while 12 declined and 60
issues remained unchanged.
